Leagold Miller can trace its roots back to 1890 when A Miller and Sons first started trading. The company today offers bespoke financial planning advice and business and personal insurance services, to business and private clients in the UK and internationally – including the great grandchildren of some of the original clients of A Miller and Sons!

Some 18 months ago the company’s Financial Services team implemented Intelliflo’s Intelligent Office (iO) solution. Associate Director of Financial Services, Bobby Keer, explains the reasons for choosing iO - and the impact it has had on his business.

Reasons for looking for a new system

Leagold Miller faced a number of challenges.

High levels of manual intervention meant inefficiency in accomplishing certain tasks. For example, commission processing and fee reconciliation were time-consuming activities as they had to be done manually; while system-generated valuations and reports were not of a sufficiently high quality to give to clients.

These issues stemmed from the incumbent system, Plum, which didn’t provide the functionality the company needed. Furthermore, it was effectively impossible to access the system remotely – a real disadvantage when advisers needed to work out of the office.

Bobby Keer joined Leagold Miller three years ago and almost immediately kicked off the process of finding a replacement system. The company did explore the possibility of staying with their previous supplier if the system could be adapted to match their needs more closely, but it soon became apparent that this wasn’t going to work.

So, the decision was taken to go with iO.
