Gaining back time with intelliflo office
Opus Independent Financial Planning provides lifestyle financial planning and financial advice across pensions, investments, mortgages and protection to individuals throughout the Midlands.
With several appointed representatives as well as financial advisers and support staff working in different locations, Opus needed a new practice management system to support the growing business and reduce costs. After an unsuccessful attempt to work with another provider, the firm turned to intelliflo.
We spoke to Olivia Martin, Practice Manager at Opus, to find out more about how the firm selected intelliflo office and their experience so far.
When you were reviewing your practice management system, what made you consider intelliflo office?
We’d had a bad experience with another provider, so when we decided to find another solution, we really did our due diligence. We looked at several systems and intelliflo office sprang to the forefront almost immediately. We felt that intelliflo is tried and true with a big market share and that it aligned well with our company vision.
It also offered specific functionality that was important to us. The personal finance portal was a big selling point, but also just reporting new business figures and compliance information. Things that seemed quite basic weren’t available as standard on our previous system or there were a lot of hoops to jump through to extract them. With intelliflo office, the same processes are embedded within the system and it all seemed much more streamlined.
Once you decided to move to intelliflo office, how did you find the onboarding process?
Onboarding was great. We didn’t have a big team at Opus managing the process and organising the data, so the support of the intelliflo team was very important to us. They were responsive, knowledgeable and kind, which helped manage the stress of switching our practice management system twice in quick succession.
And how is the ongoing customer support?
The support afterwards has been incredibly meaningful. All the training in the world can’t prepare you for actually using the system fully. Having the intelliflo team carry us through the teething months, and helping with configuration and all our queries has been really appreciated.
Now we’re through that phase, queries still pop up every now and then, and the ongoing support team has been really helpful.
How do you find the intelliflo office functionality now you’ve been using the system for a while?
It’s a thousand times better than our old system, there’s no comparison! Now if I want to produce a fees report or a new business report, it’s there. And the workflows are simple, so processes are condensed, and it’s easier for everyone to do their jobs.
Income reconciliations were a particular issue with our previous provider, but it’s much more logical within intelliflo office. And now that we’ve gone through a few months, most things match automatically, so you can submit and relax.
One of the main benefits we’ve found from moving systems is that we’ve gained back time. The pain of getting through submissions, reconciliation and reporting has been stripped away. Now we have time to look at better ways of working with our clients, innovating through document designer, and streamlining processes.
Having that time back has been priceless.
