Before joining intelliflo, Gemma lead a UX team in the San Francisco Bay Area, working with a range of startups and established players in fintech, technology and gaming. As Director of Research and CIO at Clever Investment Management, I am primarily responsible for the development of our quantitative and academically driven investment strategies and our proprietary fund selection system ‘The CleverEngine’. Day to day, I work with anyone from the Portfolio Managers within our Clever MPS to esteemed Professors Clare & Thomas and staff of Bayes Business School. Joining Clever as an analyst from Business School over 10 years ago, I have continued to develop my skillset, earning my MBA in 2018 and now studying towards a PhD in Finance with Bayes Business School.

Richard is a certified financial planner and was recognised as a Top 35 Next Generation Advisor by Citywire in 2024 for his dedication and expertise in the financial planning industry. He holds a degree in Accounting and Finance from the University of Manchester and began his career in the City of London, where he assisted business owners and high-earning professionals with managing their personal finances. Following a period in London, he returned to Manchester to be closer to his family. Prior to joining Throgmorton in April 2023, Richard led the wealth management division at an accountancy practice.
