Senior Product Designer

Intelliflo widens access to financial advice through leading technology which powers the financial advisory experience. We use open software architecture combined with unmatched industry experience to simplify a complex digital landscape to help advisors compete and grow. Our solutions support over 40,000 financial advisors worldwide, representing over ten million end-investors, with over $ trillion assets serviced across our platforms.

Job Purpose:

We’re looking for an inspiring Senior Product Designer to help grow and manage a team of high-performing UX/UI designers, whilst becoming responsible for the delivery of our design vision across our product portfolio. You will be instrumental in defining and delivering intuitive, engaging, and innovative solutions that meet the complex needs of our customers and their clients.

Working with the Head of UX and the other discipline leads within the UX team (Content Design, User Research and Front-end development), you’ll champion the voice of the customer and use your design expertise to help guide the approaches we take for the experiences we create. A key responsibility of this role is to collaborate closely with the UX/UI designers, Product Owners and Technical Architects to oversee the quality of the experiences created across 4 distinct value streams.

This role is a flag bearer for innovative ideas, pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in the financial advisory space where AI and automation can redefine the hybrid advisory experience for both advisers and clients. We encourage you to bring bold ideas that will elevate our products and challenge industry norms!

Something that means a lot to us here at intelliflo, is finding someone who’s in it for the long run, someone who cares as much about helping us reshape the business culture and processes as much as they do about delivering “best in class” solution for financial advisers and their clients. The next 3-5 years look exciting for us, and building the right UX team for the next chapter starts with this pivotal role. If you’re looking for a challenge and to stretch yourself, then this role offers has strong career progression opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:

As the Senior Product Designer, you will be responsible for both strategic design leadership and hands-on team management:

  • Lead, mentor, and line-manage a team of UX/UI designers, fostering a collaborative and growth-oriented design culture.
  • Oversee and maintain the quality of all user experiences across the entire product portfolio, specifically managing the design delivery across four product value streams.
  • Collaborate with the Senior UXR and the Head of UX on strategic initiatives to define the long-term product design vision and roadmap.
  • Translate high-level product ideas, unmet user needs, or business requirements from vision to impactful, cohesive user experiences.
  • Collaborate effectively with Product Managers, Architects, and Analysts to bring ambitious visions to life.
  • Ensure all product experience is designed for the user and firmly grounded in user-centric principles.
  • Guide your team in prototyping and testing designs to refine and validate usability and help define success metrics using behavioral analytics.
  • Take the lead in planning and conducting formative user research, synthesizing insights, and translating them into sound design decisions that address user pain points and opportunities.
  • Actively contribute to and oversee the evolution of our developing Design System.
  • Effectively communicate complex interaction and design ideas—through visual storytelling—to your peers, leadership, and external stakeholders.

Skills and Experience Required

  • Extensive UX/UI design experience in software product design, preferably in the Fintech industry.
  • Proven experience in leading, managing, and mentoring a team of designers, including experience in hiring and developing talent.
  • Ability to oversee the experience standards for design quality across multiple product lines or teams.
  • Expertise in developing prototypes and designs deeply rooted in customer needs and validated through testing.
  • Strong working background in an agile environment.
  • Skilled in using modern design software (Figma, Dovetail, etc.) and an expert background in the Design Thinking Process.
  • Experience with, or a passion for AI supported efficiencies within the design process, using tools like Figma Make or Claude, to name but a few.
  • Strong experience in conducting user research across the stages of the product development lifecycle.
  • Proven ability to work cross-team and synthesise feedback and input from business leaders, Product Management, and Engineering.
  • A strong ability to create consistent, accessible, and visually engaging interfaces.
  • Experience in contributing to and managing Design Systems.
  • Able to communicate complex, interactive design concepts clearly and persuasively across different audiences and varying levels of the company.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in design, Information Systems, or other related fields
  • Any of the following are valued but not essential:
    • British Computer Society (BCS) Foundation Certificate in User Experience (UX)
    • Certified Professional in User Experience (CPUX)
    • Certified Usability Analyst (CUA)
    • Certified User Experience Professional (CUXP)
