UX/UI Designer

Job Purpose:
Are you passionate about crafting intuitive, beautiful, and meaningful digital experiences? We’re looking for an enthusiastic and talented UX/UI Designer to join one of our core value streams and help us create solutions that truly meet our customers’ needs and expectations.
This is a dynamic role where you’ll be instrumental in taking ideas from concept through to delivery, designing, testing, and validating solutions directly with our users. You’ll work closely with a Technical Architect and a Product Owner in an agile environment. Furthermore, you’ll be an active member of the wider UX team, reporting to the Senior UX Designer, and collaborating with Content Design, UX Research, and Front-End Developers.
This role offers a unique opportunity to have a huge influence on our design system and to explore how we can leverage AI to significantly enhance the efficiency of our “idea-to-prototype” process.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and Execution: Produce high-fidelity UI solutions from initial concept to final execution, translating high-level product ideas or business requirements into intuitive, functional, clean, and aesthetic user interfaces.
- Prototyping and Ideation: Brainstorm multiple possible solutions, creating concepts, interactive prototypes, and high-fidelity mock-ups.
- User Validation: Organise and facilitate usability studies with users and discuss user feedback you’re your Product Manager and other key stakeholders to help prioritise identified user needs.
- Quality and Standards: Ensure all solutions follow usability fundamentals and adhere to understood accessibility standards.
- Collaboration and Communication: Effectively communicate interaction and design ideas to peers, leadership, and stakeholders. Synthesise feedback and input from cross-functional teams, including business leaders and engineering.
- Design System & Best Practice: Help maintain company visual and interaction standards, define best practice in user design methodologies, and contribute to the evolution of our design system.
- Responsibility: Work with minimal supervision, exercising independent judgment throughout the design phases with direction from the Senior UX Designer and oversight and support from the wider UX team.
Skills and Experience Required
- Proven Experience: Demonstrated UX design experience in software product design projects preferably within the Fintech industry.
- Design Tools: Highly skilled in using UI software such as Figma, Dovetail, Miro, etc.
- Design Thinking: Strong background and practical experience in the Design Thinking Process.
- Prototyping: Experience developing wireframes, prototypes, and final designs based on a deep understanding of customer needs.
- Visual Design: A visual storyteller with an expert eye for layout, hierarchy, color, and typography.
- User Research: Experience in conducting usability tests and user interviews.
- Synthesis: Ability to synthesise research findings into customer journey maps that align and unite the members of your value stream and the business.
- Agility: Experience working effectively within an Agile environment.
- Communication: Ability to communicate complex, interactive design concepts clearly and persuasively across different audiences and varying levels of the company.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in design, Information Systems, or other related fields
- Any of the following are valued but not essential:
- British Computer Society (BCS) Foundation Certificate in User Experience (UX)
- Certified Professional in User Experience (CPUX)
- Certified Usability Analyst (CUA)
- Certified User Experience Professional (CUXP)
- Nielsen Norman Group (NN/g) UX Certification
- Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM) Professional Diploma in UX and Customer Experience
