Helping you respond to the FCA’s July 2025 data request
The July 2025 FCA data request asks for detailed information about your clients, services, and investment arrangements. Fortunately, for intelliflo office users, much of the information required is readily accessible through your dashboards and reports. We’ve put together a brief overview of how your practice management system can support your regulatory response.
Several questions ask about your active clients, which can be answered using data within the Client Management Dashboard. This includes filters for active clients, service status, and demographics – including age, gender, and whether the client is part of a couple – to give you a clear, visual breakdown.
Similarly, the Funds Under Management – Wealth Dashboard will provide the data you need to answer questions on the total value of all clients’ advised assets. The New Business By Adviser report will tell you how much new money was invested in the past year, while to understand valuation changes over that period, the Client Portfolio Valuation Analysis report compares start and end valuations, helping you present a complete picture to the FCA.
The request also includes questions about support for vulnerable clients. You can filter your data for clients marked as vulnerable or potentially vulnerable via the intelliflo office Client Overview tab to establish your headline figures.
For more detail, the Vulnerable Clients MI report extracts an overview of any notes logged in the ‘Vulnerability Action Taken’ field in the client record. This free-text field was introduced recently, so you may not yet have fully populated the data, but it will make it much easier to retrieve in future.
The final question in the client section covers clients’ primary objectives for seeking advice. If you are using the advice process within intelliflo office, you can find relevant details under the Recommendations tab in the Advice Case Dashboard. Here, advice is broken down by category, such as pension switches and new investments, to help you calculate the necessary percentages.
Data within intelliflo office can also support several aspects of the advice process and controls section of the FCA request. For example, the New Business By Adviser report provides insight into the number of transactions across different plan types, including any restricted or specialist investments.
Much of the anxiety around regulatory data requests stems from concern about how well information has been recorded. The FCA has made it clear that the data it’s requesting should be easy to access, but that’s only true if the right processes are in place to capture it accurately in the first place. While intelliflo office provides the tools to meet this expectation, firms must have the right processes in place to ensure data is captured accurately and consistently from the outset.
The most effective way to stay ahead of regulatory demands is to build compliance into your routine processes. Rather than scrambling to meet deadlines, firms using intelliflo office can integrate data capture into everyday workflows by utilising activity management and lifecycle rule functionality, making regulatory reporting a natural by-product of business as usual. That way, regulatory data is not only available, it’s audit-ready.
Our dashboards give you a clear overview of your business, clients, and operations, and for deeper analysis or to prepare tailored reports, information can be exported directly into Excel for greater flexibility.
Additionally, intelliflo office can help you surface missing or incomplete fields, so you can proactively go back and fill any gaps, helping you maintain high standards of data quality and readiness. If you identify data gaps in a large scale, our data uploader tool can help you retroactively address these in bulk.
If you’re worried about your data processes, now is the perfect time to review them and ensure your team is consistently capturing the right information. With intelliflo office, you have the tools to make this a seamless part of your compliance culture.
